REVIEW:

Crazy about everything related to Korea, could I miss Annamaria Bosco's new novel? I would say no 😀

I had never had the pleasure of reading the author and it was a pleasant discovery, I will go and get the other Korean novel and all her works because Nothing serious except love It won me over from the very first bars.

The author has clean and engaging writing that immediately drew me into this story which is different from the usual romance because it is set in Korea. You can breathe in the pages this diversity which is not only the result of the foreign names of the protagonists, but of many small nuances and situations that the author recounts and which for those who know Korea, even just through K-dramas, cannot fail to recognise.

I found a crumb of courage and positioned myself in front. I lifted my toes and placed my hands on his chest and left him a kiss. Seo-Yeon remained still, without reacting. I immediately called myself stupid. I had just ruined everything.

Annamaria Bosco

Too often we read books where we talk about places and characters far from us Italians and in the end there is no difference. They are books that could be set anywhere because the only distinction is the name of the city or the names of the characters. These are the books I hate because they have no characterization and also show little effort and care in researching information for a new story. This one by Annamaria, on the other hand, is a little gem, reading the pages catapulted me straight into a K-drama.

Han Yoo Nah e Kang Seo Yeon They seemed like two extremely real characters to me, I saw in them everything I know about these people: shyness, embarrassment, drinking like sponges and making some mess… brushstrokes here and there that let delicate and poetic emotions shine through.

The structure of the novel alternates the voices of Yoo-Nah and Seo-Yeon and, chapter after chapter, will allow you to better understand the protagonists and their past. Once you have closed the novel you will only want to read more about them because by now you will have empathized with their experiences. The beauty of the story is this thread that binds the two characters. In the end they are destined to meet and intertwine their lives.

If I really had to criticize the author, I would tell her that I want the next book set in Korea to be more substantial in terms of pages. This one made me dream but I was sad to get to the last page too quickly.

Congratulations to the author.
