Italy welcomed the artist collective Dpr, with the warmest of welcomes at the Fabrique in Milan on November 10, 2024.
Presidential Decree is an acronym that indicates the phrase Dream Perfect Regime of which DPR are part Cream (Kim Hyunh Mo), DPR Article (Kim Yongwoo) Dpr Ian (Cristian YU) who performed on the world tour The Dream Reborn Tour, which fortunately also touched Italy with Milan.
I started following Dpr Ian about 3 years ago with the release of the single Nerves, as usual by chance on social media, intrigued by the sound I immediately saved his albums in the library and in no time I had become a super fan of his, undoubtedly carried away by his physicality and stage presence. It didn't take long to understand his artistic talent in music but above all in the production of his music videos, absolutely eclectic, full of symbolism, details and color that often reflect his mental condition. Christian Yu he is a transparent and authentic person and artist, who has never hidden his bipolarism. In a society where we tend to hide and be ashamed of the mental pathologies that many of us suffer from, he creates strengths, and with his music and his art he has encouraged and helped many of his fans, even if only in a small way.
In these 3 years, I have always envied those who were able to participate in Ian's performances, and fortunately, the concert god granted my wish.
I was lucky because I was able to attend the meet & greet of the three boys, without the use of cell phones it was a chat between friends, where they confided to us that they had the opportunity to go around the city the day before, that they ate carbonara at will and even that they went to the barber in Milan (where they renamed Cristian in Italian Cristiano)
DPR's concert at the Fabrique in Milan began with the DJ set by the producer and DJ Article, where everyone on site started warming up and having fun dancing like crazy to the tune of Do or Die, Escape e Dream, then followed by the artist and singer Cream with his alternative pieces with electronic sounds: Darling the most famous, but also Miss u too bad e Test drive. The audience was really excited, so much so that it was very sad that they didn't have more space on the stage!
Presidential Decree Ian he makes his entrance to the roar of the fans' screams who cheered him loudly (I no longer have a voice), with Welcome to the other side, a piece that in my opinion, seems like a soundtrack to a film or a dream, so engaging with its strings on the base, punctuated by effects that mark the time. It is one of the songs that symbolizes an internal and external struggle of the artist, thus the metaphor of breaking down walls, but also a perception of an end and a new beginning (references to midnight).
We must say that Ian is a complete performer as a singer, producer, director and visual artist. It is immediately clear that he sees the world through the eyes of an artist from his music videos, something he desperately wanted to bring to the stage for his World Tour.
With Insane, Ian challenges the minds of his audience both for his lyrics and for the engaging dance that he himself together with the dancers interprets, leaving room for his creativity and sensuality. Insane comes immediately after Welcome to the other side because Cristian, he explains, after having undertaken his journey in the other side, comes out mentally exhausted, bringing with him good gifts but also events that made him suffer.
During the evening the Italian fan base, Presidential Decree Italy gave the artists our national team shirts personalized with their names, and Cristian (now Cristiano) wore it right on stage for two songs.
Ian, as in all his live concerts, takes moments to interact with the fans, both with monologues that reflect his interiority, and above all with reading the signs that the crowd holds up.
I swear I have never seen so many billboards at one of my concerts… in Italy you are very passionate, it's a fact!
The evening ended with Nerves e Ballroom Exstravaganza dedicated to its audience.
What can I say, it was a magical evening, it far exceeded my expectations, Cristian Yu is one of the best artists that the music scene offers and we felt the need for him, without too many frills, his honest genuineness and goodness of heart, always kind towards his fans with his iconic expression "Darling". In a musical panorama, especially the Italian one, where the highest form of creativity is Dissing and despicable lyrics, allow me to appreciate a kind and sensitive artist towards his audience, which is inevitably also reflected in the extremely healthy and positive behaviors of his fans.
A few days after the conclusion of the Dream Reborn Tour Cristian YU announced that he will take a break to record the new album. We can't help but anxiously await their return to Italy, let's hope they don't take too long because their fans are already experiencing concert withdrawal. Presidential Decree.
